April and May Jams!

Apologies for not posting these earlier—April was nuts and May was spent recovering. But here is the artwork, fresh off the scanner. (I’ll be inking the pencil ones and reposting them so you can see them more clearly!)

April’s theme was Monsters and May was more of a draw what you want and most worked on personal projects. I drew some reptiles and had fun doing it!:)

March Comic Jam

There were some new faces at the March Comic Jam, and we made some very fun and silly art. The topic was Leprechauns:

Inaugural Jam!

Last night was the first meeting of the Guelph Comic Jam at the Ox and it was a success! Conversation was flowing (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the favourite topic of the night), as was the ink and we came up with some pretty wild drawings.

The topics were Valentine’s Day and Winter Sucks (A sentiment wildly felt this time of year). Here are the scans:

If you missed last night’s Jam, don’t worry, you can always make it next month or whichever month you happen to be free. We jam every last Wednesday of each month, excluding December!

First Jam!!

Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is the first Jam! Bring pencils, pens, paper and some money for drinks!

It all starts here at 7pm! We have the large table in the café section of Ox rented. I’ll be wearing a Sharknado shirt. (Only the best for you jammers! ;)

The Guelph Comic Jam Now has a Home!!

After some searching, the Jam will officially be held year-round at Ox Guelph! Here are the official details:

Where: Ox Restaurant and Café, 37 Québec Street, Downtown Guelph

When: 7pm-9pm

What to Bring: Pens, paper, markers, a bit of cash for drinks or food if you’re hungry

Big thank you to the owners and staff at Ox for providing this excellent opportunity!

Welcome to the Jam!

Hi fellow Guelphers/Kitchenerers/Waterloolians/artists and Curious Folk,

This is the first entry in what will hopefully be a long-running blog for the Official Guelph Comic Jam! Here you will find photos of the Jams, comic-related news, events and workshops, artist highlights, particularly those from the area and dates and times for the Jams.

This blog also features an About section for those wondering what the heck a Comic Jam is and other general questions. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at: colleen.temple@yahoo.ca.

This site is a work in progress, with info and artwork being updated. The image in the header will also be updated soon with more prominent buildings in Guelph, to give it that Guelph-flavour!
